Born in the romantic old capital of Bulgaria – Veliko Turnovo, in 1988, Magi Djanavarova graduated from The National Music Academy with a degree in pop and jazz music. Her major breakthrough came with the third season of ‘Music Idol’ Bulgaria. After her victory in the show in 2009 she released her debut album titled “Purva stupka” (‘First step’). Its lead single “Tryabva da znam” (‘I Need To Know’) is a melodic R&B mid-tempo ballad backed with Magi’s mighty vocals. They are the reason that makes other call her ‘The Bulgarian Beyonce’.
Magi’s second single is the energetic duet song called “Svetut e Moi” (“The World Is Mine”), which features one of the most popular Bulgarian male artists – Miro. In 2011 she decided to continue her career as a self-producing artist. Later that year she released the dance hit “Call My Name” and worked with Dj DIASS on the songs “Music, Set Me Free” and “Found Myself”.
One of her biggest hits is “Moeto Radio” (“My Radio”) featuring the rapper 100 Kila, which became one of the most rotated tracks in 2013. It was followed by “1 Minuta” (“1 Minute”) – a collaboration with the hip-hop artist Bobo. In 2015 Magi released the sultry solo piece “Chakam Te” (“I’m Waiting For You”) and showed once again her glamorous side and confidence and with the duet song “Diva”, recorded with another mighty female vocalist – Nora Karaivanova.
Magi’s latest R&B single is “Sama” (“Alone”), released in the spring of 2017. Influenced by great female vocalists like Whitney Houston, Destiny’s Child, Mariah Carey, Magi Djanavarova’s voice and musical style make her one of the most recognizable young artists, who continue their journey to new hights.
